Landscapes
Selected Examples
Anderson’s landscapes reflect his connection with nature and are his homage to the natural world. These images spring most directly from his impressions of the American west and his extensive travels abroad, especially in Turkey and Morocco. His abstractions are often expressed with brightly colored anthropomorphic forms. Close inspection may reveal a mountain ridge as a hip, a peak as a breast or a cloud as a face. He explains that this imagery reminds him of the universal pervasiveness of feminine energy.
